The Government Training Institute (GTI) was founded in 2003 to address needs of state and local law enforcement agencies throughout the United States with research based training. GTI's multiple courses contain a cooperative curriculum base and ongoing research from a staff with extensive operational military and law enforcement experience.

Dennis O'Connor's 25 years of law enforcement experience is invaluable when it comes to teaching the future of law enforcement. His list of specialties is truly endless with decades of experience in SWAT tactics, CQB, HRT, and even training K9s and their handlers to be used on patrol and during SWAT operations. He leads by example having no problem gearing up with his students to run exercises with them so they understand everything they are being taught.

This month, Primary Weapons Systems (PWS) joins the GTI list of partners. PWS is based out of Boise, ID and is known in the industry for their unique long-stroke piston driven ARs. Primary Weapons Systems outfits 90+ LE agencies with firearms throughout the United States. In addition to their MK1 MOD 1-M, MK1 MOD 2-M and MK2 MOD 1-M lines, this year PWS released a line of PCC (Pistol Caliber Carbine) products along with a limited run line called the PWS MK1-ALPHA. As PWS joins the partner team, we will be working with them to further outfit the GTI team with PWS products and will soon be offering PWS products through our ATP Asset Trading Program. With agency funds being tight it is difficult to find those much needed training and equipment dollars; well this program can help to fix that. As many of you may know I am a big fan of Hecker and Koch's VP9 handgun. It is my every day carry and one of my favorite guns I own. When I found out HK came out with a sub compact VP9 I immediately picked it up and began to run it through it's paces. Now with 750 rounds through this little sucker, I have finally come to a decision.
