Matthew comes on board as a Law Enforcement Training Coordinator and Asset Trading Program Representative.
Thank you and I am excited to be joining GTI, their training is top notch and the Asset Trading Program (ATP) is a tool that is proving to be very useful to all types of agencies.
The Asset Trading Program can assist agencies in funding their training with GTI or any other organization or to help replace the old equipment or secure new assets and equipment to add capabilities to the department.
If you would like to find out more about the Asset Trading Program please visit our webpage at

I would also like to bring attention to a couple of upcoming courses being hosted at our Joint Operations Center in Barnwell SC, that are open to Law Enforcement Officers, First Responding Elements and Military personnel.
The Public Order Management course scheduled for September 30th through October 4th explains that we are living in an age where Law Enforcement is under constant observation and scrutiny from the public and the media. We are fighting to do our job, all the while everyone is ready to judge our every move; and whether we are right or wrong, we end up defending our actions against the internet and social media. Because of this, we have to change our approach but we cannot forget what we are there to do and still maintain the safety of our officers and the public we are there to protect. To make these changes we have to train our people from the top to the bottom and give them the tools they need to be successful in today's environment; not using antiquated techniques, equipment and procedures. Let's make sure we train to a standard that keeps everyone on the same level operationally and gives no one the ammunition to scrutinize our actions or our people who are just trying to do their job and return home safely to their families.
The Public Order Management course covers several topics, some of which are:
- Communication - a look at the various ways in which we can communicate with protest groups and the impact of social media on a public order event.
- Command and control - how we manage events, options for command structures and how this works in conjunction with current FEMA guidance.
- Crowd dynamics - An introduction to the way's crowds behave, based on current academic research and presented in conjunction with experts from the University of Nevada Las Vegas utilizing a range of models to safely manage crowds and practical exercises to reinforce this.
The course tuition, including meals and lodging, is $1500 for the five days.
For more information on the course visit our website at
Public Order Management or send me an email and I would be happy to provide details or write up a proposal and send a registration form.
The second course that we just added to the calendar for December 9th-13th is the Tactical Response to Terrorism. The tuition for the 5 day course is $1000, meals and lodging are not included but can be added on to the proposal.
The Tactical Response to Terrorism is a course designed for the front-line officer, however small Special Team Units have given this course high evaluations. In light of a POST 9/11 world, skill sets for U.S. Law Enforcement requirements have changed. This Immediate Action, Counter Assault course takes the student through real life application and familiarization of the possible response. This course gives the students knowledge in Current Terrorist Threats to America, Terrorist Modus Operandi, Operational Planning of Terrorist Groups, Pre-Incident Indicators and Prevention of Terrorist Attacks, and Suicide Bombers. Once students learn about the threats that they face, they will acquire skills that will assist them in quickly forming a plan and initiating a reaction to the threats by focusing on individual and team skills that will be required for a tactical response to a terrorist event. For more information visit our website at
Tactical Response to Terrorism or send me an email and I would be happy to provide more details or write up a proposal and send a registration form.
Thank you to all of the officers, operators and other first responding elements that are battling each day to keep all of America safe. We at GTI look forward to continuing to provide tools and training to assist you in doing your jobs.
