The Government Training Institute (GTI) was founded in 2003 to address needs of state and local law enforcement agencies throughout the United States with research based training. GTI's multiple courses contain a cooperative curriculum base and ongoing research from a staff with extensive operational military and law enforcement experience.

Gene has been a full time instructor since January and has spear headed the coordination of training at GTI as well as performed outstandingly as an instructor for a wide variety of our courses. Everything from TYPE I SWAT to CQB Gene has demonstrated through and through his knowledge and expertise in various areas of tactical training. His hard work, hands on approach, and knowledge have helped his students immensely during the classes he has taught and prepares them for any dangers they may face while on the job.

It all started with a simple discussion with a group of friends and it slowly turned into a heated debate in way one gun was better than the other. In this article I talk about my personal Top 10 Favorite Most Iconic Guns ever to be produced and gives you reasons behind why I chose each gun. Very little of the reasons are based around detailed specs and facts but are more based around how cool Clint Eastwood looked holding it in a movie.

With agency funds being tight it is difficult to find those much needed training and equipment dollars; well this program can help to fix that. Agencies are turning those unneeded items into actual training and equipment dollars. The great thing is there is no cost or obligation to register with the program.

What is the difference between a high level competition shooter who can accurately and quickly shoot small groups at steel and paper targets on a range and a high level gun toter who carries a gun for duty or self-defense? Both need to be able to hit what they aim at with their firearm on command. Both need to be able to manipulate their firearm swiftly and competently. Both certainly need to be able to handle their firearm safely under all circumstances and they both need to do all of the above under stress. So what is the difference? It's "mental".
